I help people to find their gifts and their authentic voice. That collective voice speaks to the world and is heard.
Connecting people is my passion. Whether I am connecting students with themselves, connecting artists with other artists, artists with opportunities - to grow, teach, exhibit and share - my truest gift is creating creative partnerships.
I have worked for over 15 years with artists & organizations sharing my knowledge of the business of art, including writing artist statements, CVs, and planning their artistic careers.
I have worked as both a motivational speaker and team builder/facilitator for the University of Alberta, Red Deer College, Keyano College, Art of the Peace, the Northern Alberta Business Incubator and have conducted many corporate team building workshops.
I have 30 years experience as an Art Educator, and am dedicated to developing an involved artistic/creative community of all age. Workshops and courses in drawing, painting, sculpture can be developed for all levels of ability.
I have led numerous corporate team building workshops utilizing visual art as the medium to facilitate exploration and communication.
“Go and make interesting mistakes, make amazing mistakes, make glorious and fantastic mistakes. Break rules. Leave the world more interesting for your being here. Make. Good. Art.”
'Sharon Moore-Foster believes that art is a process, as is life, and she continuously acquires bits of information and integrates them with old, as well as surrendering to the present with a bizarre sense of ‘Okay, let’s go!’. In her sculpted pieces, it is as if the human form is erupting from the fertile rock and from the dust of a million bones and beings. The works are variously stained in ochre, deep reds and black, almost archetypal in their essence."
"When I say artist I mean the one who is building things … some with a brush – some with a shovel – some choose a pen."
"Sharon is an avid student of the history, cultures and myths of this earth. She is also fascinated by the human focus on wonder and fear, of prophecy and omens, of light and dark, of wisdom and foolishness – the paradoxical quest of each human soul’s journey through shadow to light."
“We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for screams, we are the dancers, we create the dreams.”
”Creative work is not a selfish act or a bid for attention on the part of the actor. It’s a gift to the world and every being in it. Don’t cheat us of your contribution. Give us what you’ve got.”
“It is good to love many things, for therein lies true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done."
In my teaching and through my art, I share who and what I am. I mentor those who come to me, I encourage the people I engage with to discover their strengths, identify their authentic voice, and to have the courage to be seen and hear.
